Sermon On The Mount Part 3

This is the eighth teaching in the series titled, “Knowing Jesus”. This teaching is titled, “Sermon On The Mount Part 3”, and looks at the second half of the “beatitudes” in Matthew 5:1-12. The message focuses on the blessing that comes on those who are merciful, those who are pure in heart, those who are peacemakers, and those who are persecuted, reviled and have evil falsehoods spoken of them.

Sermon On The Mount Introduction

This is the sixth teaching in the series titled, “Knowing Jesus”. This teaching is titled, “Sermon On The Mount Introduction”, and looks at some foundational aspects of the Kingdom of God Jesus came teaching as to understand the Sermon on the Mount. The message focuses on the new birth and repentance that the Holy Spirit works in us that results in a new Father-Child relationship with God. Our entire Christian life needs to be understood and directed from the perspective of this new Father-child relationship.

Compassion’s Enemy

This is the fifth teaching in the series titled, “Knowing Jesus”. This teaching is titled, “Compassion’s Enemy”, and looks at how Jesus and the disciples relate to a man born blind. In this interaction between Jesus and His disciples about the blind man, we see the enemy to compassion is judging which blinded the disciples from seeing the blind man from the Father’s perspective and from seeing what God was doing.

The Father’s Looking

This is the fourth teaching in the series titled, “Knowing Jesus”. This teaching is titled, “The Father’s Looking“, and looks at the parable of the “Lost Son or Prodigal Son”. Jesus uses this parable to make it clear the Father looks and sees and has compassion and then is willing to express His love in reckless extravagant ways that confound those that watch.

Looking To Love

This is the third teaching in the series titled, “Knowing Jesus”. This teaching is titled, “Looking To Love” and looks at the parable of the “Good Samaritan. Jesus uses this parable to teach the same three steps of expressing love to others as He did to the widow of Nain; where He saw her, had compassion for people, and moved to help her. Jesus confronts those listening of the things that stop them from really seeing people and that keeps them from being moved with compassion
